Sharing is Caring

Rufus is a German Shepherd mix who was saved from euthanasia after being held at a Kentucky animal shelter well known for overcrowding. While he’s the truest form of puppy in just about every way, he’s also an absolute gentleman with kids, and other dogs.

We think Rufus would do best in an active home, where he has plenty of people and perhaps dog friends that will help him get rid of excess energy. Let’s learn a little bit more about Rufus’s characteristics before diving into details about what makes him an incredible dog.

Rufus is young, goofy, and full of puppy energy! He’s a playful pup, guaranteed to keep you laughing with his antics. We checked, and there’s not one serious bone in Rufus’s body. This shepherd mix is the ultimate family companion, bringing joy wherever he goes.

Rufus came to Fields of Freedom Dog Rescue due to overcrowding at another shelter. Sadly, he found himself on the euthanasia list, but their rescue team couldn’t let that happen! We’re so glad he was given a second chance at finding his forever home.

Rufus’s Special Qualities

Rufus the German Shepherd Mixed breed dog Outdoors in Green Grass Panting with Tongue Hanging Out.
Rufus will keep you active, as he loves to play outdoors.

What truly sets Rufus apart is his remarkable combination of intelligence and playfulness.
